Exercise Basics
Exercising a minimum of 30 minutes a day is recommended for sustaining a healthy lifestyle
In order to change body composition and shed weight, you may have to do more depending on
your fitness level and goals.
That’s why its best to focus on performance instead of a number on a scale.
The more conditioned your body is the less chance of injury and
the greater chance of changing your body composition.
Start where you are and move forward striving for progress and not perfection.
If you’ve been sedentary for awhile, start off with a walking program.
Try to do you BEST the first day and then up your distance each time you walk.
Later, work on bringing up the intensity.
If you are custom to working out regularly, find other ways to challenge yourself.
For example, you can train for a race, try a new fitness class,
or take up intramural sports for a little added fun.
Take a moment and write down your current exercise regimen that you are consistently doing weekly.
Use your current routine as a base and then tweak it for improvement.
Ultimate exercise regimen should have a foundation that consists of stretching, cardio, and strength training.
